Octoplasmid is an alien creature who crash-landed in the open ocean as a tiny, undeveloped organism. For days, she drifted through the high seas, feeding on plankton and other microscopic life. Eventually, the currents carried her into the path of a passing pirate ship.
Drawn by curiosity and instinct, she scaled the wooden hull in search of shelter. Slipping unnoticed across the deck, she found her way into a dimly lit storage room. There, nestled among crates and coils of rope, was a burlap sack with a small tear in its side.
Wriggling through the opening, she discovered a stash of nutrient-rich potatoes. It was paradise. Hidden away, she gorged and grew until one day she erupted from the sack in a burst of newfound strength. She still wears the remnants of that sack as a tribute to the warmth and sustenance the potatoes gave her.
As for the ship’s crew... well, let’s just say things got a little strange after the potatoes ran out.
